On Tuesday of this week (Dec 8th) we in SAP along with Microsoft announced a very significant expansion of our partnership to enable customers to design and operate intelligent digital supply chain and Industry 4.0 solutions in the cloud and at the edge.

We will also work together to drive interoperability as members of industry alliances, such as the Open Manufacturing Platform and the Open Industry 4.0 Alliance.

Due to the importance of this topic to the very significant and growing audience of this podcast, I invited Microsoft's Partner Group Program Manager (Azure Industrial IoT/Manufacturing) Christoph Berlin and SAP's Global Head of Strategic Partnerships for Industry 4.0 and Digital Supply Chain Nils Herzberg to come on the podcast to explain the implications of this expanded partnership for customers, partners, and prospects.

We had a fascinating conversation about the partnership, the reasons behind it, what problems it solves for customers, and possible next steps. I thoroughly enjoyed it, I learned loads, and I hope you do too.
