US President Donald Trump has declared Cuba an “unusual and extraordinary threat” to US national security, imposing a strict oil blockade on the impoverished nation, which is almost entirely dependent on foreign fossil fuel to power its energy grid. CNN's Havana correspondent Patrick Oppmann says the embargo is pushing an already impoverished population to the brink.
