Today’s podcast was a journey. Lot’s of rewrites. Lot’s of probing questions. I did not start with an answer and try to explain it; I started with some questions, and did a lot of thinking.
It started with a simple question:
If you thought bombing Libya in 2011 was at least a close call, maybe even defensible, how on earth do you turn around in 2026 and say bombing Iran is beyond the pale?
Today I want to trace that question through Libya versus Iran, Obama versus Trump, and how the media and political class have twisted themselves into knots to justify one and denounce the other—and then I’m going to tell you where I actually land on the current Iran strikes.
