How much time is enough time to become an expert?

We have been told that if we work hard enough, put in the time and effort we can become expert. I mean heck, Malcolm Gladwell made a pretty penny selling this idea and engraining it into our everyday conversations about learning and expertise.

While we need to practice skills to get better at that skill, there is a fundamental flaw in the assertion regarding practicing and developing expertise that most don’t wish to think about. Well, let's talk about that.
