Moving Medicine Forward with Dr Michael Klaper & Dr Zach Burns

Published 3 months, 3 weeks ago
Description

In this timely conversation, Dr. Michael Klaper and Dr. Zach Burns join Jasmin and Mariann to discuss the growing movement to integrate nutrition education into medical school curricula, and why plant-based medicine is more urgently needed — and more achievable — than ever.

The episode covers:

  • RFK Jr. secured commitments from 53 U.S. medical schools to add nutrition curriculum, opening the door for plant-based advocates to shape what gets taught
  • Dr. Klaper argues nutrition should be woven throughout all four years of medical training — not siloed into a standalone course
  • Popular MAHA books Good Energy and Lies I Taught in Medical School acknowledge diet’s role in chronic disease but fail to recommend whole food, plant-based eating
  • Moving Medicine Forward’s plant-based nutrition masterclass is being submitted for continuing medical education (CME) credit
  • The doctors connect “do no harm” medicine with the links between the standard American diet, chronic disease, animal agriculture, and planetary health
