India has confirmed casualties among its citizens as tensions escalate around the Strait of Hormuz. Officials said three Indian sailors have died and one citizen remains missing as the crisis disrupts key maritime routes. The government said it is monitoring Indian vessels in the region and has set up a control room to assist affected citizens.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke with India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar about the worsening West Asia situation and called for greater cooperation among BRICS nations.

Separately, amid fears of supply disruptions, the government has reassured consumers that there is no LPG shortage and said domestic production has been increased by about 30 percent to meet rising demand.
