Description
Today Rochelle Porto and myself dig into the role of the pastors in the colonies leading up to the beginning of 1775. Following the First Great Awakening (circa 1730-1755) the message of the church begin to emphasize obedience only to God not earthly kings, resistance to tyranny, the pursuit of liberty and that all our rights came from God. Not only did this message now pose a threat to rule by a king, it also worked to unity the many denominations towards a unified cause.
