Impact Shift: The Art of Pivoting for Meaningful Change
Trained as an applied physicist, Dr. Rahul R. Prasad is an avid photographer, explorer, traveler, and adventurer. He also utilizes his technical expertise to advise venture capital firms.
Dr. Prasad received his PhD in Applied Physics from Yale University in 1987 and has worked at Yale University, Physics International Co., Science Research Laboratory, and Alameda Applied Sciences (a company he co-founded in 1994). Most recently, he was Senior Physicist and Manager at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, working on various aspects of the National Ignition Facility.
He has been an active volunteer for his alma mater, Yale University, for almost three decades, serving as the Chair of the Graduate School Alumni Association (2010–2012) and the Chair of the Yale Alumni Association Board of Governors (2016–2018).
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Prasad is currently President of Butterflies USA (a nonprofit raising money for marginalized children in New Delhi, India), Chairperson of the Board of Amandla Development (a nonprofit raising money for at-risk youth in Cape Town, South Africa), and investor and advisor at MVP Ventures.
