Inexhaustible Hope

“Hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts…” — Romans 5:5

None of what we are dealing with is easy.

There are burdens we carry,

questions we live with,

and times when the road ahead feels dangerous and uncertain.

But the love of God has been poured into our hearts.

And when that love begins to overflow among us,

it gives rise to a hope that cannot be extinguished.

A hope that is

inexhaustible,

unapologetic,

relentless,

persistent,

determined,

and sustained.

The apostle Paul uses a word here — καταισχύνω —

that suggests something deeper than embarrassment.

It means being proven wrong,

exposed as foolish for believing.

But Paul insists:

hope rooted in the love of God will never leave us that way.

We will never regret holding onto hope.

And we will never be ashamed for believing that love will prevail.
