Story Transcript:
Et: Tallinna lastekodu asus rahulikus linnaosas, vanas, mugavas hoones.
En: The children's home in Tallinn was situated in a quiet neighborhood, in an old, cozy building.
En: Flowers began to bloom, even though the air still had a crispness to it.
Et: Päike paistis tuppa, kus Indrek esimest korda ringi vaatas.
En: The sun shone into the room where Indrek glanced around for the first time.
Et: Maarja, sõbralik hooldaja, juhtis teda tutvumistuuril.
En: Maarja, a friendly caretaker, guided him on a familiarization tour.
En: Her smile was warm, but Indrek's heart was still cautious.
Et: "Siin on sinu tuba," ütles Maarja, avades ukse ruumi, kus paar last juba mängisid.
En: "Here is your room," Maarja said, opening the door to a space where a couple of children were already playing.
Et: Indrek astus arglikult üle läve.
En: Indrek stepped timidly over the threshold.
Et: Maarja jätkas: "Tutvustan sulle Juhanit."
En: Maarja continued, "Let me introduce you to Juhan."
En: Juhan stood up from the bed and walked closer to Indrek.
En: "Hello, I'm Juhan," he said, extending his hand.
En: Indrek hesitated for a moment but then took Juhan’s hand.
En: He felt a bit awkward, as he always did at the beginning of new meetings.
Et: Maarja jätkas: "Täna õhtul räägin teile ühe loo.
En: Maarja continued, "Tonight, I'll tell you all a story.
Et: Olen kindel, et sulle meeldib."
En: I'm sure you'll like it."
En: During the day, Indrek took out some personal items from his cupboard.
En: He watched other children playing happily outside.
En: The fear that he might not fit in with them clung to his thoughts.
En: In the evening, all the children gathered around Maarja, who began her story: "Once upon a time, there lived a little boy who always wanted to know where he came from."
En: As Maarja continued, Indrek realized that the boy’s story was somehow familiar.
En: It seemed like his own story.
Et: Pärast loo lõppu oli Indrek rahutu.
En: After the story ended, Indrek was restless.
Et: Ta tahtis teada rohkem.
En: He wanted to know more.
Et: Nii otsustas ta avada end Juhanile.
En: So, he decided to open up to Juhan.
Et: "Kas sa tahaksid kuulda minu lugu?"
En: "Would you like to hear my story?"
Et: küsis Indrek vaikselt.
En: Indrek asked quietly.
Et: Juha
