A Prayer When Hope Is Being Formed

God,

Some seasons prove harder

than we expected.

The road feels longer.

The burdens feel heavier.

And hope does not always come easily.

Yet we trust

that You are still at work.

When challenges come,

give us the strength to endure.

When endurance is required,

shape in us a character

that is resilient and hopeful.

And from that character,

let hope take root in us—

something that grows

until it becomes part of who we are.
