Now, since the U.S. government has cut down on assisting refugee arrivals, but Open Doors for Refugees has great capacity for helping, it has found new ways to support immigrants in Madison and new partners. They strive to help newcomers from many backgrounds to find their places and make their lives here. Beginning In 2020 the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and Open Doors for refugees teamed up to raise funds with the Freeze for Food. In 2025 the event raised $23,000.
