Wednesday 4 March - 15 Adar | Shushan Purim (In Jerusalem)

Season 3 Published 2 months, 3 weeks ago
Description

Today in History: The Jewish people in Shushan the capital were permitted one extra day to fight their enemies. They celebrated on this day instead (see Esther 9:18). That is why it is called “Shushan Purim,” and Purim is still celebrated on this day in Jerusalem.

The Prophet Ezekiel received a prophecy against the kingdom of Egypt. God gave him seven prophecies against Egypt and almost all of them mention the date (see Ezekiel 32:17).

This week's portion is called Ki Tisa (When you count)

TORAH PORTION: Exodus 33:17–23

GOSPEL PORTION: Luke 1:67–80
