79. Dr. Heather Schultz (Cold Capping During Chemo)

Published 4 years, 6 months ago
Description

On today’s episode, I am speaking with Dr. Heather Schultz. Dr. Schultz is a psychiatrist, a mom of 3 and was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after turning 41. She ended up needing chemotherapy with Taxotere and Cytoxan (“TC” regimen) and decided to do cold capping (scalp cooling) during her chemotherapy to try to reduce the risk of hair loss. She shares how she came to the decision, what cold capping was really like (she shares ALL the facts–the equipment needed, how long it takes, how to care for your hair and more) and whether or not it worked for her. This conversation is a great resource for anyone wanting to learn more about scalp cooling during chemotherapy but as a reminder, it works differently for everyone and this is just one individual experience.
