"It's just a cross I have to bear." Have you ever heard that phrase or even said it yourself, often related to a minor inconvenience? That's not what Jesus meant when he made it clear that anyone who follows him will have to take up their own cross. Following Jesus can often bring challenges, emotional and mental pain, or even physical pain or loss.
