Welcome to the Saturday Examen. We have taken our first steps into Lent over the last few days. Take this Saturday to observe the journey so far... You might have also been praying with our retreat, ‘Holy Longing’... Let the moments of prayer, of everyday life, of everyday longings and movements come to your mind from these last few days... Recall your Ash Wednesday... did something stay with you? Maybe from Mass or a service you attended... How did you feel setting off into this year’s Lenten desert with the Lord? Notice something about this last week that has opened up your heart to God and to others... Now what about something that caused you to shut yourself off? Something that made you distant from God and others... Is there something you wished you could have done differently? Bring this to the God of mercy and love, speaking as one friend to another... What do you need to continue on the rest of your Lenten journey? Ask God for this grace... You have given all to me To you, Lord, I return it Everything is Yours, do with it what you will Give me only Your love and Your grace That is enough for me.
