15-year-old Austin Thompson stabbed his brother James to death, then dressed in full camo and hunted down strangers in Raleigh's Hedingham neighbourhood. Off-duty cop Gabriel Torres was shot while on the phone with his wife. Susan Karnatz was jogging. Mary Marshall was looking for her dog. Nicole Connors was killed on her doorstep - all captured on Ring camera. Five dead, two wounded. Thompson left a note: "I hate humans, they are destroying the planet. I have no regrets." Sentenced to five consecutive life sentences without parole.
