Story Transcript:

Ja: 春の上高地山谷は静かで美しいです。
En: The spring Kamikochi valley is quiet and beautiful.

Ja: 雪の残る山々が湖を抱きしめ、所々にアルプスの花が咲き始めています。
En: The snow-capped mountains embrace the lake, and here and there, alpine flowers are beginning to bloom.

Ja: 広士と明子は、この美しい景色を楽しむために山を登り始めました。
En: Hiroshi and Akiko started climbing the mountain to enjoy this beautiful scenery.

Ja: しかし、道中で広士は足をひねってしまいました。
En: However, along the way, Hiroshi twisted his ankle.

Ja: 「大したことないよ」と広士は笑顔で言いましたが、本当は少し痛いです。
En: "It's no big deal," he said with a smile, but, in truth, it hurt a little.

Ja: 彼は外の世界を愛していて、この旅を続けたいと強く思っています。
En: He loves the outdoors and strongly wants to continue this journey.

Ja: 「大丈夫？」明子は心配そうに見つめます。
En: "Are you okay?" Akiko asked, looking at him with concern.

Ja: 彼女は広士のことを大切に思っていて、無理をしてほしくありません。
En: She cares about Hiroshi and doesn't want him to push himself too hard.

Ja: 「ちょっと休んだらどう？」
En: "Why don't we rest for a bit?"

Ja: 広士は頭を振ります。「いや、大丈夫。あの景色を見に行こうよ。」
En: Hiroshi shook his head. "No, I'm fine. Let's go see that view."

Ja: でも、実は一歩一歩のたびに痛みがじわじわと広がります。
En: But in reality, the pain slowly spread with every step.

Ja: 山道は徐々にきつくなっていきます。
En: The mountain path gradually became more difficult.

Ja: 広士は無理をして歩き続けましたが、ふとした瞬間に足が滑りそうになりました。
En: Hiroshi pushed himself to keep walking, but at an unexpected moment, he almost slipped.

Ja: 明子は慌てて彼を支えます。「もう無理しないで、お願い」と強い口調で言います。
En: Akiko hurriedly supported him. "Please, don't push yourself anymore," she said sternly.

Ja: 広士は黙って下を向きます。彼は認めるのが嫌だったのです。
En: Hiroshi silently looked down. He didn't want to admit it.

Ja: しかし、明子の真剣な顔を見ると、正直に言わなければならないことがわかります。
En: However, seeing Akiko's serious face, he realized he had to be honest.

En: "My foot hurts. But I wanted to see the view."

Ja: 「足が大事だよ」と明子は優しく言います。
En: "Your foot is important," Akiko said gently.

Ja: 「ここにいてもいい景色がたくさんあるよ。」
En: "There are many beautiful sights to see from here too."

Ja: 二人は静かな場所を見つけて座ります。
En: The two of them found a quiet spot to sit.

Ja: 山の風が心地よく吹き、鳥のさえずりが聞こえます。
En: The mountain breeze blew comfortably, and they could hear the chirping of birds.

Ja: 広士は深呼吸をして、周りの美しさに気付きます。
En: Hiroshi took a deep breath and noticed the beauty around him.

Ja: 二人は肩を寄せ合い、ゆっくりとした時間を過ごします。
En: They sat shoulder to shoulder, enjoying a slow moment together.
