Akron RubberDucks General Manager and President, Jim Pfander has been hired by the Tampa Bay Rays, which is now partly owned by former RubberDucks owner, Ken Babby.
Pfander, who has worked in Minor League baseball for 26 years–the last 15 here in Akron–is leaving for a new job, with a title not yet specified, but described as a "senior level executive position", in the Rays' front office.
