Polarity Inversion: Black Hot is the inverted version of the standard White Hot palette.Temperature Representation: In this mode, warmer objects are displayed as black or dark grey, while cooler objects are displayed as white or light grey.Contrail Signature: Because contrails consist of ice crystals formed at high altitudes where temperatures are often below -40°C, they are significantly colder than the surrounding atmosphere or the Earth's surface.Visual Result: This extreme cold causes the contrail to be rendered as a bright white streak against the darker (warmer) background of the sky or ground in Black Hot mode.Engine Contrast: Conversely, the aircraft's engine exhaust and hot components will appear jet black in this mode because they are the warmest parts of the scene. also different weather conditions, such as high humidity, might change the visibility of these trails on your thermal device?
