Probe of external influences in DOJ a “partisan stunt,” Attorney General Kaul says
Published 1 month, 4 weeks ago
Description
Republican state legislators investigating “external influences” in Wisconsin’s Department of Justice butted heads with Attorney General Josh Kaul in a public hearing this morning.
At issue: his department’s hiring of a Special Assistant AG to work on environmental litigation – a position funded by an NYU center with ties to Michael Bloomberg. Republicans say the hiring opened the door to outside, partisan influence.
But AG Kaul maintains that the hiring is a non-issue – and the investigative committee is a political stunt.
