New South Wales Police believes remains found near a Sydney golf course are those of kidnapped grandfather Chris Baghsarian.
Police located the remains at Pitt Town in north western Sydney this morning - though they are yet to be formally identified.
The 85 year old was kidnapped from his North Ryde home 11 days ago, in what officers believe is a case of mistaken identity.
The parents of four-year-old Gus Lamont, who went missing in South Australia's north last September, have released an appeal for anyone with information about his disappearance.
In a statement distributed by SA Police, the boy's parents Josh and Jess said they are united in their grief and search for answers.
The couple also thanked police, emergency services and everyone else involved in the search for Gus.
The Bureau of Meteorology warns the outback areas of several states and territories could be cut off due to intense rainfall and flash flooding.
Severe weather warnings have been issued for parts of the Northern Territory, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland - due to a slow-moving weather system and humid air mass.
