Earlier on January 31, but with charges filed February 12, Micaela Pasillas, 30, allegedly swung a knife at a driver near Delaware Drive, striking the vehicle door multiple times. During pursuit, she entered a police cruiser and reached for a firearm, prompting an officer to fire three shots, injuring her non-fatally. A knife was recovered. She faces charges of second-degree assault on a peace officer, menacing, motor vehicle theft, resisting arrest, and obstructing a peace officer. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office investigation is ongoing; use of force review pending with the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Under investigation.
