Meet the Hero Dog Finalists at Crufts 2026: Vote for the UKs Top Canine Hero!
The Royal Kennel Club has announced the five finalists for the Hero Dog Award at Crufts 2026. These incredible dogs showcase the amazing bonds we share with our four-legged friends and their significant impact on our lives. The public can now vote for the UKs top heroic canine, with the winner to be crowned at the event next month.
Among the finalists are Joey, a working cocker spaniel who helped his owner Ciara recover from personal loss and injury; Asha, a Staffordshire bull terrier who offers comfort to a wheelchair-using teenager with serious health issues; Tweed, a springer spaniel who made history as Europes first digital detection dog for police; and rescue stars Iggy and Skittles, who provide therapy and alert their owners to health issues.
Owners and families praise these dogs for bringing joy, strength, and safety every day. The winner of the public vote will receive £5,000 from the Kennel Club Charitable Trust for a dog charity of their choice, while finalists will each receive £1,000. Voting is open until March 8th at the Crufts website. Catch the announcement live at the Birmingham NEC on Channel 4, and head to Crufts from March 5th to 8th for the worlds biggest dog celebration.
