The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired infielder Ben Cowles from the Chicago Cubs via waivers. Cowles, a 26-year-old right-handed hitter, has yet to play in the majors but impressed in Triple-A last year with a .235 batting average and .300 on-base percentage. Hes known for his versatility on defense and solid contact skills, drawing comparisons to Nico Hoerner. Cowles will compete with Leo Jimenez for a utility infielder spot in Jays camp this spring.
