Wisconsin environmental group joins new lawsuit against EPA

Wisconsin environmental group joins new lawsuit against EPA

Published 2 months ago
Description
A 2009 declaration known as the endangerment finding determined that climate pollution threatens the public’s health and welfare, providing the foundation for a laundry list of environmental regulations at the federal level. But the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency revoked the finding last week, arguing that it “strangles” American business and industry. In doing so, the agency has shirked its legal responsibility to protect people from the harms of pollution, according to a coalition of public health and environmental groups who filed a lawsuit today challenging the revocation. Amy Barrilleaux, communications director at Clean Wisconsin, spoke with our News Producer Faye Parks this afternoon to explain why they’ve joined the fight.
