Fearless Fund Expands to Ghana, Bridging Funding Gap for Women

Published 1 week, 1 day ago
Description

Fearless Fund, a venture capital firm led by women of color, is expanding to Ghana, aiming to bridge the funding gap for women-led businesses in Africa. The firm, which recently won an anti-DEI lawsuit, announced a new microfinance fund and partnerships with local groups. They will host a pitch competition offering a $9,000 prize to women entrepreneurs with high-impact ideas. Fearless Fund, backed by major corporations, has already raised tens of millions, given out over $5 million in grants, and trained over 1,000 founders. In Ghana, women-owned businesses face significant financing challenges, earning less profit than male-led ones. Fearless Funds targeted lending and support aim to tackle these barriers, while their partnership with TRACE Academia will provide entrepreneurship training for over 200,000 people.
