Tonight I hosted a lively, gentlemanly debate during a special live simulcast on Food For Thought Radio, Holy Land Radio and online, where we experimented with a multi-platform broadcast and it all worked a treat. I welcomed guests Paul English, “Survival” Steve, and Anurag (Rack), later joined by Patrick, for a spirited exchange on whether we need government at all, springboarded by the emergence of Rupert Lowe and his new party. From Steve’s full-bore anarchist natural-law stance and critique of state violence, to Paul’s pragmatic “least-worst” incrementalism and the value of raising taboo topics (like banning halal and kosher slaughter), we explored freedom, morality, migration, money, and how real change might happen—gradually, locally, or via a mental and moral revolution. We kept it civil, sharp, and often funny—polls were opened, minds were challenged, and we closed with calls to read more, think deeper, and keep our sense of humour intact. We touched on the practicalities and perils of political action, infiltration vs. abolition, the role of community resilience, and the ever-present influence of banking power and propaganda. Listeners weighed in on whether government is necessary (our live poll swung toward “no”), and we wrapped by agreeing that whatever path we choose, it must be anchored in conscience, common sense, and courage—plus a good laugh at the end of the night.
