American civil rights activist and former politician, Jesse Jackson has died at the age of 84.
The Baptist minister a close associate of fellow civil rights icon, Martin Luther King Junior and ran for the Democratic presidential nomination twice.
In a statement, his family says Jackson was a leader "to the oppressed, the voiceless, and the overlooked around the world".
