On March 4, 2022, 911 received a call from Kouri Richins to report that her husband, Eric Richins, was unresponsive in their bedroom. Unfortunately, first responders were unable to save Eric, so he died under mysterious circumstances. At first, Kouri seemed devastated at the loss, even writing a children's book about it. However, after the toxicology results came back, Investigators knew that there was much more going on here.
