The federal government is facing a new-look opposition, with Liberal leader Angus Taylor and his deputy, Jane Hume, outlining some of the party's policy priorities at the weekend.

Mr Taylor has signalled he will pursue a stricter immigration policy, saying it will be a focus for the party - both as a vehicle to reduce cost-of-living pressures and to "protect the Australian way of life".
