On February 6, Mesa police responded to a disturbance just after 4:30 p.m. where a suspect allegedly assaulted a man and stole his car near a local intersection. The carjacking suspect was arrested in Phoenix. Case under investigation.

On February 12, one person was shot at an apartment complex near Longmore and Southern Avenue during overnight hours, according to FOX 10 Phoenix reports. The victim is expected to survive. Investigation ongoing; no arrests reported.

In related federal cases, Ian William Moses, 35, of Mesa, was sentenced January 13 to 60 months in prison for setting fire to a Tesla dealership, per U.S. Attorney's Office announcements. Separately, a Mesa man received a five-year sentence for the arson incident.
