Putnam, who shares his journey of overcoming personal challenges, the importance of fatherhood, and his passion for music. The conversation delves into the significance of being prepared in life, the role of community support, and the creative process behind Arthur's music and writing. Listeners are treated to insights on parenting, personal growth, and the evolving landscape of music and culture.
Arthur C. Putnam Jr. was born on January 28, 1983, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His childhood was not easy. Social challenges and learning differences made school difficult. He often felt misunderstood. But he found something that changed everything. Music. Dance. Creativity. The arts became his escape and his voice. Arthur expanded his talents by playing the alto saxophone and piano, recording vocals, writing scripts, and performing in stage plays while attending the School of the Arts. The stage gave him confidence. Music gave him freedom. When his family moved to the suburbs, life shifted dramatically. He faced racism, judgment, and isolation. The weight of it followed him. Still, he pushed forward. He attended college, played basketball, and ran track and field. His athletic ability carried him all the way to semi-professional competition in British Columbia, Canada. Injuries eventually brought him back home to Milwaukee. He chose family. Marriage. Fatherhood. In his heart, he believed his dreams had to wait because his children came first. But life tested him again. Marital struggles. Legal issues. Public judgment. Pain. He felt attacked and alone. Depression grew heavy. Even thoughts of ending it all tried to take over. That is when Arthur found God. Faith rebuilt him. It gave him purpose. It gave him strength. He dedicated his life to his Lord and Savior and to his children. What once felt like an ending became a new beginning.
Today, Arthur C. Putnam Jr. is an author, musician, leader, and father who turns pain into purpose. His book, The Queen of Halloween: Untold Stories of Willow Creek, is available on Amazon. His music—released under the name Ryzn—is streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes, bringing back the soul and storytelling of 90s music. His album Confession continues to grow, with the powerful track “The Kill” reaching listeners worldwide. Arthur is also a Production Supervisor at Kleen Test Products, where leadership is more than a title. It is action. It is example. He believes: “Being a leader shows true strength. It’s not about the title. It’s about what you bring to the table. It’s about how your seed and soil mix together so you can grow your own tree in God’s way. God is the plan. God is the deal.” Arthur writes love stories. He writes truth. He writes redemption. His life is proof that broken roads can still lead to greatness.
