Cy: Roedd yn fore glâs a di-alw am hynny yng Nghw-minffordd.
En: It was a crisp, unexpected morning in Cw-minffordd.
Cy: Ger Cwrt Ewen, lle roedd y golau dyddiol yn lliwio'r Iâ wlyb, roedd Carys a Dafydd yn cerdded i'r chwarel.
En: Near Cwrt Ewen, where the daily light colored the wet ice, Carys and Dafydd were walking to the quarry.
Cy: Roedd hi'n Ddydd San Ffolant, diwrnod arbennig i'r ddau o'r plant, am eu traddodiad blynyddol o ymweld â'r chwarel lle byddai eu tad, erbyn hyn wedi marw, yn eu harwain i gael picnic cyhyd ag y maent yn cofio.

En: The cold wind was biting, but it couldn't shake the warmth that permeated her heart.
Cy: “Dw i eisiau gadael, ffeindio’r llwyth arall.
En: “I want to leave, find the other tribe.
Cy: Gweithio dramor.”
En: Work abroad.”
Cy: Dawodd Dafydd am eiliad, yn pwyso ar ddarn o slab llechi mawr a defnynniog.
En: Dafydd paused for a moment, leaning on a large, dripping slate slab.
Cy: “Onid mae llond llaw o fwlybis gan ein teulu?
En: “Isn't our family full of busybodies?
Cy: Dydi Mam ddim...dydi hi ddim mynd i’w throsglwyddo.”
En: Mam isn't... she's not going to let it pass.”
