Treasurer Jim Chalmers has introduced legislation to parliament to double the tax rate on superannuation accounts with balances over three million dollars and raise the tax rate on super balances of more than 10 million dollars to 40 per cent.
Last year the government changed its proposed superannuation reforms to index the thresholds to inflation and to exclude unrealised capital gains from the measure.
