Description

Welcome to Lifespring! One Year Bible Rewind. This daily podcast helps us read the entire Bible in one year. Today is Psalms Wednesday, so we focus on Psalms 48–50. I share a short introduction before each psalm. Then we reflect on what Psalm 50 teaches about true worship. We also pause for prayer and a verse of the day.
Today’s Reading
Today’s reading is Psalms 48–50.
Episode Highlights
Psalm 48 — The joy of God’s city
This psalm celebrates the greatness of the Lord. It points to Zion as a picture of His strength and faithfulness. Because of that, God’s people can walk through life with confidence. We remember what He has done, and then we tell the next generation.
Psalm 49 — Wisdom about wealth
Next, Psalm 49 speaks to both rich and poor. It reminds us that money cannot rescue a soul. Wealth fades, but God’s redemption lasts. Therefore, we place our trust in Him instead of in what we own.
Psalm 50 — What God really wants
Finally, Psalm 50 shifts the focus to worship. God already owns everything, so He does not need sacrifices. Instead, He wants thankful hearts, sincere praise, and faithful obedience. In today’s commentary, I compare that kind of love for God to a healthy marriage. Real love expresses itself through joyful actions, not empty routine.
Verse of the Day
Psalm 48:1 — “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God.”
