Waitress, the Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical based on the 2007 cult classic film, is coming to Australia with its premiere at Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne on 1 May. The production features Nat Bass and Rob Mills in lead roles, with Bass playing a working-class pie baker seeking to reinvent her life and Mills portraying her obstetrician Dr Pomatter in this comedy-drama featuring music by Sara Bareilles. The show explores themes of starting over and finding one's best self through a blend of humour and emotional storytelling.
