Esther 6 - 7: The Masks Come Off: Esther, Haman, and Xeres Are All Exposed

Season 17 Episode 6 Published 6 months, 1 week ago
Description

What if one sleepless night changed your entire life story?

Esther 6-7 is the fastest, most ironic reversal in the Old Testament. Our villain, Haman, expects to spend his day publicly humiliating and murdering his sworn enemy, Mordecai. Instead, King Xerxes’ God-induced insomnia leads to a discovery that changes everything. Through a hilarious misunderstanding, Haman is forced to publicly honor the very man he planned to hang on a 75-foot gallows.

Then, the tension explodes at Esther’s second banquet. The masks come off and our brave queen brilliantly exposes Haman as the villain, reveals her own identity, and begs for the life of her people. God’s hidden providence rings loud and clear with every intricate detail as Haman goes from the king's favorite advisor to a corpse on display in less than 24 hours.

In our Esther 6-7 Bible study, we cover:

  • [11:36] The Power of Insomnia: How an ordinary sleepless night becomes God's ultimate tool to protect His people, and how to trust Him in your own unresolved situations.
  • [16:12] Courageous Communication: How Esther’s carefully worded petition exposes Haman without cornering the volatile king, and what her example teaches us about speaking hard truths with wisdom instead of blame.
  • [26:32] Pride Before the Fall: Why Haman's desperate need to be honored becomes the exact trap that destroys him.
  • [22:37] Irony in Scripture: How the man who plotted genocide against the Jews ends up begging on his knees before a Jewish woman, then hangs on the gallows he built for his enemy.
  • [10:07] Missed Second Chances: The sobering warning from Haman's wife, and what it costs us when we refuse to repent.
