Do planes land on highways? Can a road suddenly turn into a runway? While such intersections of aerial and terrestrial transportation are not common, they happen so frequently that you might be surprised. But after all, a runway and a highway aren’t so wildly different. They look pretty much the same: roads are straight pieces of asphalt, just like you’d find in an airfield.
