Calls have been made for urgent improvements to home carer working conditions in order to tackle severe recruitment backlogs in Clare.
A recent report by Home and Community Care Ireland showed the HSE's homecare waiting lists in this county are proportionally the longest nationwide.
Pressure is now coming on the HSE to increase staff pay, improve career progression pathways and introduce enhanced mileage allowances.
HSE Regional Health Forum West Member, Doonbeg Fianna Fáil Councillor Rita McInerney says strong action is required.
