10% Year-On-Year Spike In Clare Car Sales

Clare has seen a 10% increase in car sales in a year.
Data from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry shows 881 cars were sold in the county last month which was up from 803 in 2024.
Electric car sales are up just over 73% in comparison to the previous year, with 158 units sold so far, while hybrid electric vehicles have taken the spot as the most popular engine choice in the country for the first time.
SIMI Director General, Brian Cooke says these numbers are encouraging.
