Nl: In het hart van Amsterdam, onder de kalme schaduw van kale bomen en winterbloemen, ligt de Botanische Tuin.
En: In the heart of Amsterdam, under the calm shadow of bare trees and winter flowers, lies the Botanische Tuin.
Nl: Terwijl de stad om hen heen bruist, heerst hier een rustige sfeer.
En: While the city buzzes around them, a tranquil atmosphere prevails here.
Nl: Sven, een ambitieuze journalist, loopt hier rond met zijn notitieblok in zijn hand.
En: Sven, an ambitious journalist, walks around with his notebook in hand.
Nl: Hij is op zoek naar inspiratie voor een artikel in het Valentijnsdagnummer van zijn tijdschrift.
En: He is searching for inspiration for an article for the Valentine's Day issue of his magazine.
Nl: Maar vandaag is anders; hij heeft gezelschap van zijn broer Jasper en zijn zus Lotte.
En: But today is different; he is accompanied by his brother Jasper and his sister Lotte.
Nl: Sven ademt de frisse winterlucht in en probeert zich te concentreren.
En: Sven inhales the fresh winter air and tries to concentrate.
Nl: De bladeren van de enkele winterplanten ritselen zachtjes in de wind, en de glazen kassen laten wat warmte ontsnappen.

Nl: Maar zijn gedachten worden steeds onderbroken door de verhitte discussie tussen Jasper en Lotte.
En: But his thoughts are constantly interrupted by the heated argument between Jasper and Lotte.

En: They are arguing about an old family chandelier that both want to inherit.

En: After half an hour of trying in vain, Sven decides it is time to intervene.
Nl: Hij nodigt Jasper en Lotte uit om op een houten bankje in de tuin te gaan zitten.
En: He invites Jasper and Lotte to sit on a wooden bench in the garden.
Nl: De beek die stroomt naast het pad klatert zachtjes, terwijl de lucht stil en helder is.
En: The brook that flows alongside the path babbles softly, while the air is still and clear.
