Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said India and the US are set to finalise a joint statement on the first part of their Bilateral Trade Agreement within 4–5 days, after which the US will cut tariffs on Indian goods from 50% to 18%.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, replying to the Rajya Sabha Motion of Thanks, highlighted bank NPAs falling below 1% and PSUs posting record profits.

Separately, at least 10 workers died in a coal mine blast in Tashkhai, Meghalaya, as rescue and investigations continue.
