En: The sun shone through the bare branches of the smrek trees in Triglavski narodni park.

En: A blanket of snow covered the ground, and the surrounding landscape looked like something out of a fairy tale.

Sl: Mateja in Bojan sta korakala po zasneženi poti, pripravljena na zimsko pustolovščino.
En: Mateja and Bojan trudged along the snowy path, ready for a winter adventure.

En: Their backpacks were full of warm clothes, thermos flasks with hot tea, and a camera for Mateja's photo safaris.

En: Bojan walked slightly behind, constantly watching for snow cracks and slippery rocks.

En: Mateja was thrilled to photograph the white peaks in the background.

Sl: Rasla je z vsako fotografijo. Pozabila je biti previdna.
En: She grew more enthusiastic with each photo and forgot to be cautious.

Sl: Nenadoma je zadonel glasen krik.
En: Suddenly, a loud cry pierced the air.

Sl: Mateja se je zgrudila na tla.
En: Mateja collapsed to the ground.

En: "Bojan, I think I've twisted my ankle," she whimpered through clenched teeth, trying hard to hold back the tears.

En: Bojan quickly came to her side and helped them sit on a nearby log.

Sl: Sneg je začel naletavati, nežno, a vztrajno.
En: The snow began to fall, gently but persistently.

Sl: "Morava biti previdna. Ne moreva iti naprej," je umiril Bojan.
En: "We need to be careful. We can't go on," Bojan reassured her.

Sl: Vendar Mateja ni želela obupati.
En: However, Mateja didn’t want to give up.

En: "I can still make it to that view at the top," Mateja insisted stubbornly.

Sl: Veter je začel pihati hitreje.
En: The wind started to blow faster.

Sl: Sneg je začel padati gosteje.
En: The snow fell more heavily.

En: Bojan looked up and felt how the increasing storm demanded they turn back.

Sl: "Poslušaj, Mateja. Morava poiskati zavetje.
En: "Listen, Mateja. We need to find shelter.

Sl: Sneg postaja gostejši."
En: The snow is getting thicker."

En: Mateja looked at her red and swollen toe.

En: She felt helpless, yet also humbled.

Sl: Tokrat je morala popustiti.
En: This time, she had to relent.

Sl: "Prav, Bojan. Ti vodi."
En: "Alright, Bojan. You lead the way."

Sl: Podala sta se nazaj po poti.
En: They turned back along the path.
