Nino Amato calls for bipartisan cooperation

Nino Amato has decades of experience in state and local government. After a term on the Madison city council and an unsuccessful run for mayor in the 1970s, Amato served under two Wisconsin governors and five Madison mayors. He made his return to local politics just a couple of years ago, in consecutive city council bids in 2023 and 2025. This spring, Amato’s running to represent the Middleton area on the Dane County Board of Supervisors. An open race after former supervisor April Kigeya stepped down at the start of this year, Amato faces two opponents in Rick Cruz and Amy Larson. Speaking with our News Producer Faye Parks ahead of the February 17th primary, Amato explained how he would use his experience in bipartisan cooperation to advance the county’s interests.
