Description
Intermezzo pt 7of7 2002 - Original Version Raw 2002 mix original 2002 mixdown from 2002, unreleased, and the one from which I developed all of the subsequent versions over the years! Dedicated to legendary Doru Malaia, a Propellerheads Reason early years user who contributed many reason sample packs we used back then, and still do today... REASON was a novelty back then, making music in software was possible, but cumbersome to say the least.... We're talking Vision DSP and just post Atari... Analog was still mainstream and cutting/splicing 2" tape was a norm, just as calibrating Studer 2" machine with SSL 4000 console AND AT LEAST AN HOUR of mic inventory checking, cable wrapping, console zeroing and tidying up after recording, of pain in the ass kinda work bf u do any music at all.... FOR ME AND MANY USERS OF THAT ERA REASON IS WHEN WE SWITCHED FROM ANALOG TO DIGITAL! It was that revolutionary, as you could coin and record ideas at home, then import into pro tools to fix the sound quality, but the point was that making music became much easier... Doru was really active and well respected member of the online Reason community and forums, sample packs of his work are out there too in rfl formats etc.. Unfortunately, as he was releasing his biggest sample pack, he got diagnosed with cancer... and passed shortly after.... but he remained active till the last day of his life with (at that time rather small reason online community of users). It really affected me on a personal level, I communicated with him regularly, as did other users, but cancer and ppl I know dying of it was a shock and novelty for me back in those days... when anything was possible... RIP DORU (the vocal samples on this track are the ones he sample packed btw, by some local Romanian girl, as he lived in Romania.. among others, he also provided keyboard samples etc)
