The Toronto Raptors continued to be linked to Sacramento Kings big man Domantas Sabonis -- but is he actually the upgrade the Raptors need? In Episode 2033, Sean Woodley runs through the latest reporting tying the Raptors to Sabonis ahead of this week's trade deadline, and lays out the cases for and against the Raptors making this move at this point in time. Off the top, Sean talks about the latest reporting from Jake Fischer, Josh Lewenberg, Sam Amick and more that leaves little doubt that the Raptors are in fact having talks with the Kings, with RJ Barrett, Jakob Poeltl and some amount of draft capital likely on the table from the Raptors' end. Next, Sean gets into the case for making a move for Sabonis -- he's certainly a talent upgrade, and would give the Raptors a big man who could help grease the wheels of their offense, while giving the Raptors an avenue out of the Jakob Poeltl contract. That's nice! But, there are downsides. To wrap, Sean digs into why Sabonis wouldn't really address the core issues with the team's offense, the risk that he himself is compromised by injury at a much higher salary slot, and the opportunity cost of adding him now when this summer could feature all sorts of star player movement. It's a no for Sean at the end of the day, but what do you think?
