Welcome to Chronicles of Old Singapore. Jamidah Surbardy grew up at 26 Jalan Pasir Ria in the heart of the kampongs of Pasir Panjang. She recounts the carefree lives of the residents and children and the schools she attended (Labrador Primary and Pasir Panjang Secondary). Pasir Panjang is better known as a major battleground during the Japanese invasion but less remembered for its numerous villages after the war.
