The USDA reported a decline in cattle and calves, with total cattle at 86.2 million head, down 0.5% year-over-year. Beef cows were down 1%, milk cows up 2%, and the calf crop down 2%. Cash cattle trade developed late, with Southern live cattle prices up $5 and Northern dress cattle up $9. Box beef prices were mixed. Light snow is possible in Northern Iowa and surrounding areas.
