Darrin Bull: ADHD New Zealand spokesperson discusses changes to prescription law
Published 1 month, 1 week ago
Description
It's expected those with ADHD will have an easier time getting treatment with changes to prescribing law.
GPs and nurse practitioners no longer need specialist involvement to start treatment for the disorder.
ADHD New Zealand spokesperson Darrin Bull says current wait times are forcing people to go private.
He told Mike Hosking that the changes are being handled carefully with those prescribing needing to upskill.
Bull says about 600 GPs have been through additional training put on by the Royal College.
